Applications are invited for an immediate Post-doctoral position in the School of Science and Engineering, Reykjavik University, Iceland. The successful applicant will participate in the development of mathematical models to support decision making strategies for sustainable geothermal utilization. Geothermal energy has a vast potential for sustainable development world-wide. Applications range from power production to space heating and industrial applications. Geothermal systems are renewable on an intermediate timescale and sustainable utilization must take into account uncertainty in terms of reservoir capacity and dynamics, and market conditions.
Candidates must hold a PhD in engineering, operations research, applied mathematics, geophysics or a related field. Reykjavik University is a young vibrant university that has seen rapid growth. New campus will be open in 2009 and the candidate will have the opportunity to shape the future of a growing institution. Competitive salaries and a relocation package are offered.
